special needs
Redemption Kids cherishes each and every child that comes into our classrooms and desires to “equip them for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Children with disabilities need the love of Christ like everyone else. Through this ministry, we aim to provide hope, love, and a special place for all to worship.
what to expect
Our goal is for your child to learn biblical truths to the best of their abilities in a classroom with same-aged peers. A trained adult buddy will be assigned to work and play with them each week to ensure consistency and make them feel comfortable, allowing them to learn Scripture and participate in the activities at their individual ability level. We want you, as parents, to be able to have the freedom to worship and learn about God while your child is safely and uniquely cared for in our R/Kids classrooms.
first time guests
When you bring a child with special needs to Redemption Tempe for the first time, you will check in at the welcome desk. The Special Needs Coordinator will give you some information about our program and at that time you will fill out a parent questionnaire so that we can effectively serve your child and address their needs to the best of our abilities. After filling out the questionnaire, your child will then attend their age-appropriate Redemption Kids class. The Special Needs Coordinator will sit with them there and observe them in their classroom to make sure that we get to know their needs first-hand. After service, we will then talk with parents about what would be the best way that we can serve your family.

A (nearly) life-long Arizona native, Kacie has lived in the Tempe/Mesa area since she was just a few months old. She and her husband, Jon, have been a part of Redemption Tempe since 2019. As the R/Kids Support Coordinator, Kacie works alongside families and volunteers to ensure that all of the kids at R/Tempe are able to learn more about Jesus and grow in their relationship with Him. She is always amazed to see how God’s image is portrayed in all members of our church body. Kacie was a special education teacher for four years and is currently a private tutor. She uses this experience to help create an environment where all children can learn about God’s love for them and how they can live that out in all aspects of life. Kacie’s favorite thing to do is hang out with her hubby, their daughter Isabelle, and their two adorable black labs. She also enjoys cooking and baking, especially when it involves something sweet or some sort of bread.
